CARECEN thrives thanks to the dedication and generosity of our volunteers. Volunteers of all backgrounds and skill sets are crucial to our work and are always welcome in both our Hempstead and Brentwood offices, and virtually.​

• Translation/Interpretation Support

  • Translating documents from English to another language

  • Interpreting for a legal client or program student

• Class teachers and support 

  • Remote assistance for ESOL classes held virtually​

  • Remote assistance teaching or supporting Citizenship Classes held virtually

  • Remote tutoring opportunities for ESOL or Citizenship students 

• Skill-based Volunteers

  • Information Technology (IT)

  • Graphic Design

  • Social Services Provider

• Community United Volunteer

  • Providing language and social services assistance to the community through in-person office hours 

• Fundraising

  • General fundraising for CARECEN

  • Collecting donation for our annual Toy Drive or Students Rise Fundraisers
